Dr. Nicolas Kourtellis from Telefonica Research presented exciting research results on cyber-privacy and cyber-safety to students and researchers at CUT.

He reviewed the recent efforts he and his team did in order to study the tracking of online users and leakage of their private data on the web via different advertising protocols such as the real-time bidding, cookie synchronization, header bidding, and cross-device tracking.

In addition, he reviewed their efforts to detect and characterize aggressive or inappropriate content and behavior on social media such as Twitter and YouTube, detect fraudulent online crowdfunding campaigns, and characterize web traffic of fake news websites.
